What the MYM team was thankful for in 2017 (Part Two)

Last post was Part One of what the MYM team was thankful for in 2017.

Here is Part Two. Today’s comes from Katie Colihan, our Digital Services Director.

What Katie Was Thankful For In 2017…

2017 was a year of many lessons for me—and I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned.

  • The last part of 2016, I became a Godmother for the first time to my cousin’s new baby, Deklyn. What I learned:  I learned that being a Godmother is more than just a title; it’s a responsibility to be a role model to a tiny human.
  • I made my maiden voyage to California. I stopped off in San Francisco and headed to Napa Valley, where I ate underground in a wine cave and ate grapes right off the vine. What I learned: Jet lag is not a myth and you should always opt for a layover for any flight over 3 hours long. Also that 2014 was one heck of a year for Cabernet Sauvignon.
  • I’m particularly grateful for the relationships I’ve built with MYM’s clients this year. The trust that they put in us isn’t something that I take lightly, and I’m truly looking forward to a successful 2018. I’ve started collecting Digital Marketing Certifications like Girl Scout Badges—the more I get, the more I want. What I learned: I learned that I’ll never be able to call my education “finished.” The digital world is always advancing and changing, and I need to be right on the front lines so that I’m ready to help clients achieve even better successes in 2018. As my favorite childhood bear Teaching Teddy would say, “There is always one more thing to learn.”
  • I’ve experienced/ been witness to some struggles, this year including losing loved ones, depression, illness, divorce, job loss… and more. What I learned: Life is meant to be lived, friends are a priceless gift, and if you lean on the right people, we can all get through this thing called life together.
  • Last, but certainly not least, I am thankful for becoming a first-time puppy momma. In April, I rescued a Chihuahua-Miniature Pincher Mix. I named him Finn, after (in my opinion) a grossly underrated character on Grey’s Anatomy, Finn the McVet.What I learned: Raising a puppy is hard—and raising a puppy with manners is even harder. Also, that an 11lb dog somehow takes up 90% of a Queen-sized bed.

Here’s a small sample of my 2017:
